Street Print & Imprinted Concrete in Nottinghamshire

Imprinted concrete — also called street print, printed concrete or pattern-imprinted concrete (PIC) — is a decorative surfacing technique where wet concrete is pressed with rubber mats to create the look of block paving, natural stone, cobbles or brick. Once sealed, it's a single monolithic slab that mimics the look of individually laid elements at a lower cost per square metre than block paving.

It's the specialty finish for customers who want a decorative driveway without the price of block or resin bound. Common across Retford, Newark, Mansfield and Lincoln — particularly for period properties where the imprinted pattern complements the building's age.

    Patterns & Finishes We Install

Imprinted concrete gives you more pattern variety than any other driveway finish. Here's the range we install:

Cobble pattern imprinted concrete driveway completed in Newark, Nottinghamshire

    Cobble patterns

The most popular imprinted finish in the East Midlands. Replicates the look of hand-laid cobbles — works on both modern and period homes. Available in old English, basket-weave and random cobble layouts.

Brick pattern imprinted concrete driveway in Lincoln, Lincolnshire

    Brick patterns

Traditional brick finish in running bond or basket-weave. Suits Victorian terraces and conservation-area properties across Lincoln, Stamford and Gainsborough.

    Block paving patterns

Imprinted to mimic standard block paving at roughly 70% of the cost. Herringbone, stretcher bond, and ashlar patterns all common. From a distance, indistinguishable from block paving.

    Natural stone patterns

Yorkshire stone, flagstone, random riven slate — imprinted to mimic the irregular edges and varied sizes of natural stone patios and driveways.

    Custom colours and borders

Imprinted concrete is coloured both through the mix (base colour) and with surface release agents (highlight colour). We can set in contrast borders, house numbers and feature panels at pour.

    Benefits of Imprinted Concrete

Imprinted concrete earns its place between tarmac and block paving for three reasons:

Decorative variety at a mid-range cost

You get block paving's look at a cost closer to tarmac. For customers who want kerb appeal on a driveway budget, it's the sweet spot.

    Hard-wearing monolithic slab

Unlike block paving, there are no joints for weeds to grow through. No individual blocks to shift under heavy loads. Once it's down and sealed, it's one piece.

    Fast install

A typical imprinted concrete driveway is poured in a single day and walkable within 48 hours. Block paving takes a week by hand.

    Our Imprinted Concrete Process

Imprinted concrete is weather-dependent and time-sensitive — every step has to run on schedule. Our six-stage process:

    1

    Free site survey

Jamie visits, measures, checks falls and drainage, and walks through pattern and colour options. You'll see samples.

    2

    Written quote within 48 hours

Itemised — sub-base, reinforcement, concrete volume, pattern mats, sealer, finish. No hidden extras.

    3

    Excavation, sub-base and reinforcement

Dig out to correct depth, compacted Type 1 sub-base, steel reinforcement mesh laid in, edge forms set.

    4

    Concrete pour and screed

Ready-mix concrete poured in one go, screeded level, and allowed to reach the correct set point before imprinting.

    5

    Colour release and pattern imprint

Surface release agent (the highlight colour) broadcast across the wet surface, then rubber pattern mats pressed in to imprint the chosen design.

    6

    Wash-off, cure and seal

After 3-7 days of cure, the surface is power-washed to reveal the two-tone colour, then sealed with a high-quality acrylic sealer that locks colour and protects from weather. We walk you through the finish and leave our direct number for any snags.

    Imprinted Concrete Pricing Guidance

Imprinted concrete typically sits between tarmac and block paving per square metre fitted. The variables are: drive size, pattern complexity, colour choice (single-colour vs two-tone), reinforcement requirements, and edge detailing. The sub-base and steel reinforcement are what the customer doesn't see — they usually account for 30-35% of the job cost but they're what stop the slab cracking under load.
